V for Vendetta Delayed
V for Vendetta, the upcoming film from the Wachowski Brothers, won't hit the screen until mid-March 2006.
Those eagerly awaiting the Wachowski Brothers follow-up to the Matrix finale will have to wait a little longer. Daily Variety reports V for Vendetta has been pushed back. Originally slated to be released in November, the film is now getting its launch in mid March 2006.
Warner Bros. reports the producers need more shooting days and more time to complete complex special effects. The studio wouldn't comment on speculation that the film's theme. Using terrorism to fight a totalitarian government that has taken over the United Kingdom might be a little uncomfortable coming that close to the recent terrorism events in London. The movie is based on a noted graphic novel.
Even though she isn't in it, Drew Barrymore is feeling the effect of the delay. Her comedy Lucky You, co-starring Eric Bana, is being bumped from its March 17, 2006, slot and hasn't been rescheduled as yet.
